You explore your options together

The loan officer will walk you through what you may qualify for, run numbers on different scenarios, and answer any questions. No obligation. No commitment. Just information.

At your pace

Prepare for Your Conversation

When the loan officer reaches out, you do not need to have everything figured out. But if you want to hit the ground running, here are some things that help to have handy.

A general sense of your credit score range (even if approximate)
Your annual household income before taxes
How much you have saved for a down payment and closing costs
Whether you have owned a home in the last three years
The state and general area where you want to buy
Your timeline — are you looking to buy in 30 days or 6 months?
Any specific questions or concerns about the process

No pressure. If the loan officer reaches out and you are not ready, just say so. A good loan officer will work on your timeline — not theirs. And if you have questions before the call, you can always browse the education library.

Common Questions After Submitting

Who will contact me?

A licensed loan officer from the AMLO network who serves your state. They are a real person — not a bot or a sales team. You will know their name, license number, and company.

Will this affect my credit score?

No. Submitting a form on AMLO does not pull your credit. A credit check only happens later, if and when you decide to formally apply for a mortgage with a loan officer. That step is always your choice.

What if I change my mind?

No problem at all. There is no obligation. If you decide you are not ready or want to go in a different direction, just let the loan officer know. No hard feelings, no follow-up pressure.

How long does the mortgage process take?

From application to closing, typically 30-45 days for a purchase. But the pre-approval stage — which is where you start — can be done in a day or two. The conversation you are about to have is step one.

Can I submit for someone else?

We recommend having the person who will be on the mortgage reach out directly. The loan officer will need to speak with them about their specific financial situation, and privacy regulations limit what can be shared with third parties.

Want to Get a Head Start?

Take the readiness assessment while you wait. It gives you a clearer picture of where you stand — and gives your loan officer a head start on finding the right programs for you.
